Lead Drying Technician
Here at RD Wright, we respect our employee’s privacy rights, some of our staff may not wish to have their names and photos published on the world wide web. Enter ‘Dave’.
Dave is probably our most experienced and skilled drying technician, bringing a plethora of knowledge both trained from the industry and homemade. A mechanical methodical member of staff, his building knowledge is unrivalled and he is often the go to person for additional information and advice on complex works. Dave is mainly used on the 2nd stage of our processes, leading a team to carefully complete strip outs, and mould remediation. Just as adept to the mitigation process, when required he also works great on a first visit, loving to get dirty there is no mitigation that can ruin his day.
Full of knowledge and helpful, Dave will run through the process from start to finish with you, protecting your property and possessions during intrusive works and getting your building back to pre loss.
Known for his ability to adapt, many a drying program has been put in successfully, in weird and wonderful set ups, making the use of whatever tools are available on the day. All our staff have a great understanding of drying, Dave just brings that little extra on the more complex of drying claims, always passing on his knowledge to others when they call on his help.
Leak Detection Manager and Drying Technician
Gareth is our leak detection manager serving the company for 9 years, running and training our trace and access team, and first visit surveys, a qualified plumber Gareth also assists on repairs and will jump on mitigation and works when required.
Gareth runs a team of 3 dedicated to tracing leaks in properties and accessing them for repair. During his time as a technician he has also completed an NVQ Level 2 in plumbing, to assist with his leak detection knowledge, and to assist the company with both repairs and isolations. As well as leak detection, Gareth is a fully accredited drying technician and assists with day to day visits to water damaged properties, providing a detailed drying plan and estimate, along with mitigation works when required. Gareth trains many of our staff both on the field and with admin, and where required is always happy to put his tool skills to good use and perform any required strip out works at damaged properties.
Smart and informative, Gareth is known for his smile, and pin point accuracy at finding a frustrating leak in many a household.
Gareth’s plumbing skills come in particular use, especially on a number of large enabling projects in Scotland and Leeds retail parks, isolating multiple complicated services in preparation for removal. Having 2 plumbers on our team has really benefited the company, bringing on site knowledge to isolation and repair. His use of hand tools and strip out mindset is just one more string to his bow as a complete drying technician. Gareth also has achieved an accreditation in Cavity Wall Surveying, providing inspections and reports for insurance networks.
Leak Detection and Drying Technician
More survey based these days, Carl now concentrates his efforts on leak detection, and first visits of water damaged properties, although still puts his hand to mitigation and larger works when required. Trained by our leak detection manager Gareth, Carl is fully capable and equipped to trace, and access any ongoing leaks in a property, and provide a detailed report over to insurances, the insured, or private businesses. Carl also visits properties damaged by water on a day to day basis, to estimate and arrange a schedule of works, often mitigating on first visit. When required he will also be your hands on guy back at the house to complete the works scoped for on the initial visit.
Bubbly and friendly, Carl has a great relationship with his colleagues and brings in numerous compliments about his on site visits and works. Always willing to go the extra mile, often fitting works around his holidays to accommodate customers requiring weekend visits.
Previously Carl had run a number of large enabling projects, preparing large properties for their subsequent renovation works. He also ran numerous enabling projects for large stores such as converting Toy’s R Us, Next, and Boots premises into B&M Bargains. This involved organising our own staff, and subcontractors, use of large machinery, and working strictly to health and safety guidelines.
Leak Detection and Drying Technician
Joe is our latest addition to the leak detection department, we say latest but he’s actually been with us already for a successful 2 years.
Joe had come from a Gas Safe background before trying his hand working as a head chef on a six year hiatus from the construction industry. With the help of the team, and his previous knowledge, Joe has become a useful addition to the team, and has recently completed his NVQ plumbing certification. Working in a variety of roles, Joe works as cover for the lead technicians, performing trace and access, initial visits, or attending to carry our strip out works, installations, or plumbing repairs.
Versality has been key to Joe’s progress, we often rely on him to head fire cleans, or contents triages, as well as his day to day roles. Whatever the task and whatever the time, Joe will make time for you in your time of need.
Fire Restoration Technician
Matty works side by side with our Fire Restoration supervisor, seeing the initial visit, contents care, and building clean are performed to our high standards.
Happy to put his hand to anything, we are also training Matty up like all out staff, and he is currently sitting 2 IICRC courses and we are hopefully to integrate him to the drying restoration side of the business in due course.
